what is so odd about this shit is that I have had so many nice interactions with arabs and i am pretty clearly a jew…maybe I have been lucky, maybe it is me…i wonder if this shit is over blown on both sides.

The cartoon in my eyes has an important connection to our mission. You will find that those countries that seek Israel’s destruction and instill citizens with hate are the same countries that hang, shoot and persecute gays. There is a direct connection. In the countries that hate Jews “less” - like Jordan and Turkey - women also have a lot more freedom and gays are relatively safe. The countries that hate Jews the most (and openly call for Israel’s destruction) are also the ones where gays have it the worst (Iran comes to mind, as doze Syria). Think about it.

Great cartoon guys, shows how committed you are to peace and tolerance *rolls eyes*… What crock of shit. I was actually looking for a bipartisan blog that would offer some insights into the Middle East. But its ok, I guess you can continue the Arab bashing and continue the bloodshed on both sides.

H, um, there are two authors here with divergent ideas. I think that you have to take a closer look at the posts we’ve put up over the past 9 months before you draw conclusions. Your black and white thinking after seeing one post I feel is more dangerous than us posting a cartoon that offers one particular world-view. Keep coming back! We’d love to have you join the conversation!

H, if you want “insights” you need to take a look at reality. It’s not “Arab-bashing.” I’ve done a good deal of work in Jewish-Arab co-existence and Arab GLBT issues. Bringing to light the realities faced by women and minorities in the Arab world is essential if there will ever be peace.
