Welcome to Mideast Piece!
Dear Friends,
You’ve seen them in newspapers and on television and - if you’re lucky - in person on the street. Dark skinned, muscles bulging, and some form of weapon strapped to their backs. For your viewing pleasure, their olive pants are a bit too small, providing the perfect showcase for a nice plush tuchus and well-trained thighs.
These men in uniform travel in packs, often crammed into jeeps, hummers or - again, if you’re lucky - the seat next to you on the bus. Dark sunglasses often hide their eyes, but that just adds to the mystery. Their belts look a little complicated, but - trust us - you’d be able to tear one off fast enough if need be..
Whether Jewish or Arab, these men in green roam the Middle East’s most western edge like stray cats in a vacant lot. Ostensibly on duty to protect their people, Israeli and Palestinian security forces have often found themselves fighting each other. This is a pity. These men are so trim and hot and sexy that the Middle East cannot afford to lose even a few of them.

In this part of the world, we’ve got women in burkas and men in canvas robes, and one too many angry Lebanese “freedom fighters.” The sight of hot young soldiers manning checkpoints, conducting body searches and in general standing guard is like a desert oasis. Even a pudgy, cross-eyed goon looks better in a tight uniform and military-issued boots. Since so many Mideast men serve in the military or security forces, they often remain trim and taut for years, becoming hot daddies and salt-n-pepper studs.
The Middle East, you might have heard, is a sea of bitter, angry and hostile people. Every day on the news, you hear about what’s been blown up – a bus, a mosque, a nightclub, a weapons depot. As the creators of Mideast Piece, we believe there’s only one thing that should be getting blown in the Middle East. This “thing,” this object of our affection, admiration and – yes – lust, is the Middle Eastern man himself, or at least the youngish hot ones not connected to terrorism.
As two gay men living in Israel – one in Tel Aviv, the undisputed gay capital of the region, and the other in Jerusalem, the divided Jewish/Arab Holy City – we invite you to join us on a journey between the legs of this most delicious of local species. Once a critical mass of man-hunters (including women) around the world recognizes the unparalleled beauty of surly Middle Eastern men, we are confident the international community will finally force an end to the conflict.
Please join us in lusting after the local flavors. Whether Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, or Bedouin, there’s something tasty for everyone. Just don’t eat too fast.
Shalom and Salaam,
John and Matt

Our Mission
Mideast Piece: Road Map for Peace
Mideast Piece aims to unite people around the world through shared adoration of that most sacred and bronzed of species, the Middle Eastern man. Whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian or Druze, these desert men are more valuable than any Saudi oil well.
As greater appreciation for the Middle Eastern male develops, we are confident the international community will intervene to preserve and protect this endangered species from destroying itself (and, on occasion, others). There are too many unattractive, pale people on Earth for the world not to make the entire Middle East a natural reserve of hot men, complete with admission fee, monorail, and – of course – petting zoos.
Mideast Piece operates according to these values:
-
• Soldiers are hot. They should not be killed in war. They should be trained – strenuously – and put on display for all to lust after. That’s Mideast Piece.
• Gay men and their supporters face similar challenges all over the world. Mideast Piece is where a shared dialog can provide solutions, mutual support, and hope to gay men of the region – plus tips on where to get a great body wax.
• Gay Jewish Israelis and neighboring gay Arabs have more in common than, say, a gay New York City Jew and a homophobic Salt Lake City Mormon in the US. We must focus on what unites us, instead of what divides us, i.e., a great ass, nice arms, killer smile, etc.
• Young gay men of Israeli Jewish background and young gay men of Palestinian Muslim background should get to work, which is what Mideast Piece represents. They must educate all gay – and curious – Middle Eastern men and their allies to make Mideast Piece, not war.
• Straight men and women of all backgrounds have a key role to play in this endeavor. Only if a majority of straights stop hating gays and start giving them some rights and respect, can we expect gays to feel comfortable enough to lead the way visa vie Mideast Piece.
• You are a Mideast Piece diplomat who must share your feedback about this site and – more importantly – send us hot pix of Middle Eastern men, steamy stories, and generous donations to allow us to continue our work on Mideast Piece. It is up to all of us to put the Middle Eastern man on the pedestal he so justly deserves.

Okay, here’s where political correctness rears its ugly behind. NEVER describe a man as a “pudgy, cross-eyed goon.” What, are you guys 17? You have an amazingly long way to go to develop sensitivity to people with physical differences. And yes, sensitivity does a *very* good job of helping all of us get along.
“We must focus on what unites us, instead of what divides us, i.e., a great ass, nice arms, killer smile, etc.” Super-shallow, but understood as a bit of humor. (You mean you *were* serious?)
“Whether Muslim, Jewish, Christian or Druze, these desert men are more valuable than any Saudi oil well.” “These men are so trim and hot and sexy that the Middle East cannot afford to lose even a few of them.” Really, take an objective look at what you’re saying. Take a look at your values. If it’s true that you’re not too far from 17, those statements are probably something you actually believe. It’s unfortunate, but it goes with the territory. Let’s hope that by the time you’re 25 your perspective will have broadened a bit. If you’re 25 or over *now*… it’s a real problem that you’re no more mature than that. Work on it.
Your site actually performs an important function: making the gay Middle East more visible and contributing to a sense of community for gays in the region. Your site is well designed, and you even write fairly well otherwise. The insensitivity and the overemphasis on the skin-deep are unfortunate. They make your site seem lightweight, like a fluff site. Is your intent really “Uniting Gay Men for Peace”? Or is it just the breathless celebration of bronze muscles and tight khakis and the downgrading of everybody else? If it’s the latter, why bother? Do we need another site like that? If it’s the former, figure out how to do it well.
