Fantasy Boyfriend

Posted by Matt in Love Guide, Too Cute, Too Sexy, Relationships, Dating, Photos on February 23rd, 2007

guy1.jpgThis is my fantasy boyfriend Eran, like the country. He is a hottie-boom-bottie who brings me breakfast in bed and special treats in the shower. During the day he is a model, and at night he is my secret lover. Most important, Eran is a sweetie who treats me like ice cream on a hot summer day.

I did some research about what women (or men) want in a man, and identified these items below. Eran meets these all except for #2 (being a model is tough) and #9 (language barrier).

1. Good Leader on the dance floor who stays on the music.

guy2.jpg2. Stable career, financial security.

3. Confident, self assured in the bedroom.

4. Direct eye contact; confident in public.

5. Neat, clean appearance and well groomed.

6. Sense of humor, quick-witted, intelligent.

7. Well-mannered i.e.; opens the door, introduces you to his friends, good table manners etc.

8. Physically fit, keeping weight under control.

9. Interested in what you have to say, a good listener.

10.Nice looking.

Who is your fantasy boyfriend?

Anonymity

Posted by John in Travel, Events, Human Rights, GLBTQ, News, Blog Stuff on February 22nd, 2007

mask Things like this, boys and girls, is why we try to keep a little anonymity on the site. We don’t want to be blacklisted and not able to visit countries like Egypt. How would we then be able to bring you Mideast Piece?!

From the article:

An Alexandria court convicted an Egyptian blogger on Thursday for insulting both Islam and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and sentenced him to four years in jail over his writings on the Internet.

Recently CNN ran a piece on how some folks in the Hip Hop and Rap community are trying to take back the “f word” - you know - faggot. I am all for that! CNN’s piece featured a gay artist named Deadlee. Check it out:

Muscle Muscle Muscle

Posted by Matt in Too Sexy, Photos on February 21st, 2007

muscle1.jpgAm I the only gay guy for whom too much muscle is a bit of a turn-off? I will not pretend I think the guys here are not hot. They are definitely studs. However, they look like they work out a lot, and/or use steroids to look the way they do.

Too much working out and steroid-use can lead to a decrease in other activities, such as thinking. There’s something about a “real” guy that turns me on. If his body is too perfect, too hard and too huge, it’s almost as if the guy is not real, you know? It’s always been the average/slightly above average guys that turn me on, and not the muscle heads.

I’m also one of those guys who is not 100% confident about his body - more like 40%! This leads me to be insecure around dudes whose torsos are just too good to be true. These are the guys at gay clubs with their shirts off and the guys who strut around muscle3.jpglocker rooms like the Lion King. Purrrrr. Muscle heads do, you know, remind me of a zoo. I kind of gawk at them and point (at least to myself). I might be tempted to feed them and talk to them, but certainly not pet them or bring them home, right?

At MideastPiece we try to bring you an assortmen of “real” men and hard-as-rock men like the dudes here. We hope you enjoy one or both. We’d love to hear what kind of guys turn you on the most. It’s particularly interesting to see what kinds of hotties play well around the world. We’ve been getting visitors from Oman, Turkey, the Netherlands and a score of other countries. Men of the world: tell us what floats your boat!

Tell First, Ask Later

army2.jpgYou might have heard that in Israel, gays can serve openly in the army. This is a sharp contrast to the US, where admitting you are a friend of Dorothy will have you promptly booted out of the army.

How to account for this disparity? Personally (based on no academic research), I would say Israel faces grave existential threats and thus there is a mandatory draft of all 18-year olds. This makes it harder to discriminate against gays, who - as any thinking person does not need explained - are just as capable of being soldiers as straights. In Israel, gays have achieved high positions within the army and - I would imagine - this has helped the collective status of gays in Israel, a country that reveres its armed forces.

Speaking of “academic research,” a recent American study advises the US army to pussy.jpgadopt Israel’s model of allowing gays to serve openly. The study cites widespead public support in Israel for gays serving their country, and points out the problems with the US “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

As we know from women’s rights, civil rights, and all kinds of rights, change is slow. Though the US has gotten much better for gays in the past decade, there’s still a long way to go. Laughing at Jack on “Will and Grace” is great, but would most Americans accept him as their neighbor, or as the fabu gourmet chef in their paratrooper unit? Me thinks not.
